The first thing you notice is a terrible sound. It is a deep, low,
mournful cry. A sound rarely heard at this intensity. It is the sound of a
grown man sobbing. Upon entering the dark gallery space you see the head of a
baby projected onto the wall. The sound of the crying is perfectly synced to
the baby’s mouth because it is his crying — manipulated by a simple cinematic
technique. This simultaneous distance and proximity between the sound and the
image is absurd, and results in a conflation between humour and distress.
